Decision point

Is a custom course the right investment for your team?

Before we talk scope or cost, the most valuable thing we can do is help you decide whether a purpose-built course actually solves the problem you are facing. Many organisations spend on training that looks productive but doesn't change behaviour. We start by asking the hard question first.

A course makes sense when…

  • Your team needs to perform a specific, measurable skill within 90 days
  • Existing off-the-shelf material doesn't match your tools, language, or workflow
  • You've identified a repeatable onboarding or upskilling gap that affects retention
  • Compliance or certification requirements demand documented learning outcomes

A course may not be the answer when…

  • The real blocker is a process or management issue, not a knowledge gap
  • Learners already have the skill but lack time, resources, or authority to apply it
  • A short reference guide or job aid would solve the problem faster
  • The audience is too diverse for a single curriculum to serve well

If you're unsure which column you fall into, that's exactly what our scoping call is for — no charge, no commitment.

"We came in expecting to buy a twelve-module course and left the scoping call realising we needed four modules and a reference toolkit. That honesty saved us weeks." — Director of Learning, a Montréal fintech firm

How course pricing actually works here

We don't sell packages. There is no bronze, silver, or gold tier. Instead, every engagement is scoped from the ground up so you pay only for the components your learners need. Below is the transparent breakdown of what drives cost.

Cost driverWhat it coversTypical range
Needs analysisStakeholder interviews, learner profiling, outcome mapping$1,200 – $3,500
Curriculum architectureModule sequencing, assessment strategy, learning-path design$2,000 – $6,000
Content productionWritten lessons, slide decks, video scripts, interactive elements$800 – $2,400 per module
Platform setupLMS configuration, enrolment logic, progress tracking$1,500 – $4,000
FacilitationLive delivery, cohort management, Q&A sessions$600 – $1,800 per session
Iteration passPost-launch review, learner feedback integration, content revision$1,000 – $2,500

All figures in Canadian dollars. Final quotes depend on module count, media complexity, and delivery format. We provide a binding estimate after the scoping call — no surprise invoices.

Why we don't bundle courses into packages

Packages are convenient for the seller, not the buyer. When a provider pre-defines three tiers, they're making assumptions about what you need before they've listened to you. That leads to overspending on features you won't use — or underspending on the parts that actually matter.

Our model is closer to how an architect works: you describe the building, we draw the plans, and the cost follows the design. If your course needs six video modules and no live facilitation, you pay for six video modules and no live facilitation. If it needs two modules and intensive cohort coaching, the quote reflects that instead.

"The itemised quote made it easy to get internal approval. Finance could see exactly what each line item delivered." — VP Operations, a Quebec healthcare network

Capability map

Every course we build draws on a combination of the capabilities below. Not every project uses all of them — your scoping call determines which ones apply.

Instructional writing

Clear, structured lesson text that respects adult attention spans and builds skill progressively.

Video and screen capture

Short, focused video lessons — presenter-led, screencast, or hybrid — optimised for async viewing.

Cohort scheduling

Timed enrolment waves with peer interaction, deadlines, and live touchpoints that keep completion rates high.

Assessment design

Quizzes, scenario exercises, peer reviews, and portfolio tasks aligned to measurable outcomes.

Facilitation and coaching

Live sessions led by subject-matter facilitators who guide discussion, answer questions, and adapt on the fly.

Reference toolkits

Job aids, checklists, templates, and quick-reference cards learners keep using after the course ends.

Proof in context

Rather than a wall of testimonials, here are three outcomes tied to specific course engagements.

What a typical engagement timeline looks like

Timelines vary, but most course builds follow a rhythm like this. Shorter projects compress; larger ones extend.

  1. 1

    Scoping call — week 1

We listen, ask diagnostic questions, and determine whether a course is the right tool. No charge.

  2. 2

Proposal and estimate — week 2

You receive an itemised quote with each cost driver broken out. Approve, adjust, or walk away.

  3. 3

Design and build — weeks 3–8

Curriculum architecture, content drafting, media production, and platform setup happen in iterative sprints with your review at each stage.

  4. 4

Pilot and refine — weeks 9–10

A small learner group tests the course. We gather data, adjust pacing, and fix friction points before full launch.

  5. 5

    Launch and iteration — ongoing

The course goes live. An optional iteration pass after 30 days integrates real learner feedback into a refined version.

Common questions about course pricing

We typically work on engagements starting around $4,000 CAD. Below that threshold, a full custom course may not be cost-effective — we'll tell you honestly and suggest alternatives like a job-aid package or a curated off-the-shelf recommendation.
Absolutely. Some clients commission only the needs analysis and curriculum architecture, then hand the blueprint to their internal team for production. The analysis deliverable is yours to keep regardless of whether you continue with us.
We've deployed courses on Moodle, Thinkific, Teachable, LearnDash, and custom-built platforms. If you already have an LMS, we build to fit. If you don't, we'll recommend one based on your audience size, budget, and feature needs.
That's what the iteration pass is for. We build courses in modular structures so individual lessons or assessments can be swapped without rebuilding the whole thing. Post-launch revisions are quoted per module, not as a flat retainer.
We design the English or French version first, then coordinate translation with professional translators who specialise in instructional content. The architecture is built to support parallel language tracks from day one, so adding a second language later doesn't require a structural overhaul.
